The school offers teachers the opportunity to work within a supportive regional community while remaining within commuting distance of Melbourne, providing access to more affordable housing in the surrounding areas. Teachers can also choose to live in Melbourne's north and commute to the school.

About the Role

This full-time, ongoing English Teacher position will commence in Term 1, 2027. The school is seeking a teacher who can confidently deliver engaging English programs and build positive relationships with students across the secondary years. Experienced teachers are preferred; however, confident graduate teachers with strong curriculum knowledge and classroom practice will also be considered. Qualified New Zealand teachers with Australian working rights are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English programs that develop literacy, communication and critical thinking skills.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

• Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.

• Collaborate with the English faculty to support curriculum planning, consistent teaching practice and positive student outcomes.

• Contribute positively to faculty priorities, professional learning and the broader school community.

Requirements

• Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

• Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach English

• Experienced teachers are preferred, with confident graduate teachers also encouraged to apply

• Qualified New Zealand teachers who meet VIT and Australian work requirements are welcomed

• Full Australian working rights

• Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
