Senior Project Engineer

Our client is a global Tier 1 specializing in technology enabling ADAS/AD system applications. Their core technologies are converging to become integral components in connected cars and future mobility systems.

Overview:

• This is a mechanical engineering related position, handling plastic injection molded components as part of the ADAS systems.
• This position is responsible for meeting the technical requirements of the customers and facilitating smooth technical communication between the customers and  development team to promote mass production development.

Role:

• Support team to acquire the next generation of mass production business.
• Function as a central point for information and support for the Sales team for (mechanical) engineering product definition for J-OEMs.
• Function as an interface between company and the customer to support technical for mechanical and plastic design in mass production development.
• Support New product team and Program Management to communicate for the product development and launch.
• Support Program Management, Product Marketing, and Sales with required technical information to help drive product sales.
• Interface with Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics, Applied Materials, and Manufacturing departments to support the execution of Electrical Engineering products.

Requirements

• Technical college graduate or higher. (Preferred B.S. degree)
• Experience in automotive components design and mechanical design.
• Experience in plastic mold interior components design, especially sliding and fastening parts.
• Experience with CATIA V5 (within the last 3 years)
• Experience in design review/DRBFM.
• Bilingual - native Japanese/English required. (TOEIC 750 or higher.)
• High level of communication skills in maintaining internal and external communications.
• Demonstrate good skills in project scheduling, technical writing, and management of electrical designs.
• Detailed ongoing current knowledge of mechanical components and systems.
• Global travel as required to support Sales and Engineering activities and customer communication.
