About the Position
This full-time PDHPE position will commence in Term 1, 2027 on an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension beyond the 2027 school year. The school is seeking a qualified PDHPE Teacher who can confidently deliver both theoretical and practical components of the subject and promote student participation, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.
The specific year levels within the teaching load will be confirmed by the school. This position would suit a teacher who can establish clear expectations across both classroom and practical environments and contribute positively to the school's Islamic ethos.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging PDHPE lessons and practical activities aligned with NSW curriculum requirements.
- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and safety across classroom, sporting and practical environments.
- Communicate clearly with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, participation, progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with PDHPE colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, sporting activities and wider school programs.
- Provide clear classroom and practical leadership, encouraging student participation, teamwork and positive approaches to health and physical activity.
Requirements
PDHPE: Candidates must be suitably qualified and have the subject knowledge required to teach PDHPE.
Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain accreditation with NESA.
Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential for this role.
Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE's onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
