The People, Culture & Safety Generalist role is with a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation delivering important community-based services across Victoria. This is a values-led, people-focused organisation committed to creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for its employees and broader communities.
About the Role:
Reporting to the People & Culture Lead and working closely with the broader team, this is a hands-on HR role supporting the delivery of efficient, accurate and high-quality people services across the organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Manage HR and recruitment inbox queries, provide routine guidance on HR policies, procedures and processes, and ensure employee records and documentation are accurate, compliant and up to date within the HRIS.
- Prepare employment documentation, support onboarding and offboarding activities, assist with recruitment coordination, and provide practical support to leaders across probation, performance and development processes.
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to continue building your HR capability within a collaborative, values-led and purpose-driven People & Culture team.
About You:
You are an organized and proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on role and supporting leaders and employees with practical people matters.
We are looking for:
- Prior experience as an HR generalist, advisor or in an HR support role. A sound understanding of employment legislation, HR policies and processes, with the demonstrated capability to provide accurate and practical guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Someone who is systems-savvy, confident using HRIS platforms, and enjoys improving processes, documentation and ways of working.
- Your communication and relationship-building skills will allow you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, as will your thoughtful, values-led approach and understanding of the importance of safe and inclusive workplace practices.
- Experience within the community services or not-for-profit sector, familiarity with ELMO, and relevant HR qualifications will be highly regarded.
The P&C Generalist is offered on a part-time basis at 0.8 FTE and is based in Geelong, with regular travel to regional services as required.
