Business Development Manager – Triad Market

Market: Greensboro | Winston-Salem | High Point / Greater Triad
Company: AccruePartners

The Opportunity

AccruePartners is expanding our presence across the Carolinas, and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Triad market.

This is a true new-business development and market-building role for someone who is energized by opening doors, creating relationships from scratch, and turning prospects into long-term clients. You’ll have the opportunity to leverage the strength of an established, award-winning brand while taking ownership of growth across Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and the surrounding Triad market.

We’re looking for someone who sees whitespace as opportunity. Someone who wants to identify the companies we should know, find the decision-makers we need to meet, create conversations where none exist today, and ultimately convert those relationships into revenue.

You won’t simply manage an existing book of business. Your mandate is to hunt, build, and grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Triad market. Develop and execute a territory strategy for identifying and penetrating high-value organizations throughout Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and the surrounding region.
  • Create net-new business. Proactively identify, pursue, and close new client partnerships across project-based, interim, executive search, and direct-hire solutions.
  • Build pipeline from the ground up. Generate opportunities through targeted prospecting, cold outreach, referrals, networking, market intelligence, and executive-level relationship development.
  • Open doors. Build relationships with CFOs, Controllers, CHROs, CIOs, CMOs, and other senior business leaders across AccruePartners’ six lines of discipline.
  • Create demand — don’t wait for it. Uncover business challenges, workforce gaps, organizational initiatives, and upcoming projects before they become open requisitions, then position AccruePartners as a strategic solution.
  • Partner closely with delivery. Work hand-in-hand with AccruePartners’ specialized recruiting and delivery teams to understand client demand, align the right talent solutions, and ensure we deliver on what we sell.
  • Turn market intelligence into opportunity. Maintain a constant feedback loop with delivery teams to understand talent availability, compensation trends, skill gaps, hiring activity, candidate movement, competitive activity, and other market indicators. Bring those insights back to clients and prospects to anticipate needs, add value, and create new business opportunities.
  • Connect both sides of the market. Share what you’re hearing from clients with delivery teams — and what delivery teams are seeing in the talent market with clients — positioning AccruePartners as a strategic partner with a real-time understanding of both client demand and talent supply.
  • Turn cold prospects into trusted partners. Develop relationships with organizations that may have little or no existing connection to AccruePartners and establish credibility through thoughtful, consultative business conversations.
  • Navigate and close complex sales opportunities. Identify key decision-makers, understand buying processes, overcome objections, create urgency, negotiate effectively, and confidently ask for the business.
  • Leverage the entire AccruePartners platform. Introduce clients to solutions across Accounting & Finance, HR, Corporate Operations, Financial Services, Marketing/Digital/Creative, and IT.
  • Expand relationships once you’re in. Turn an initial engagement into a broader partnership by identifying additional stakeholders, departments, business units, and workforce needs.
  • Own your number. Take personal accountability for prospecting activity, meetings, pipeline creation, new logos, gross margin, and revenue generation.
  • Become known in the market. Build a strong network and visible presence throughout the Triad business community, creating relationships that generate opportunities today and in the future.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of successful new-business sales experience within staffing, professional services, consulting, Big 4, or another solutions-oriented B2B environment.
  • A demonstrated track record of personally generating net-new business, rather than primarily managing or growing an inherited book of accounts.
  • Proven ability to build a territory, market, or pipeline where limited existing opportunity existed.
  • Experience developing relationships with executive-level decision-makers and influencing complex buying decisions.
  • Comfort with proactive outbound business development, including cold calling, targeted executive outreach, networking, referrals, and strategic prospecting.
  • The ability to speak specifically about your results — including new logos won, pipeline generated, quota attainment, revenue or gross margin produced, sales cycles, and examples of accounts you personally opened.
  • A competitive, entrepreneurial mindset and the resilience to keep pursuing the right opportunity even when the first answer is “no” or “not now.”
  • Strong closing instincts. You know how to move a conversation forward, challenge assumptions, address objections, create urgency, and ask for the business.
  • A collaborative sales mindset. You recognize that winning the business is only the beginning and actively partner with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure exceptional execution, gather market intelligence, and uncover additional opportunities.
  • Strong business curiosity. You want to understand what’s happening inside an organization and across the market and can connect those insights to talent, project, and workforce solutions.
  • The autonomy and discipline to build your own strategy, prioritize your market, manage your pipeline, and deliver measurable results.

The Hunter We’re Looking For...

You’re someone who naturally asks:

Who aren’t we doing business with yet?

Who do I need to know inside that organization?

What are our recruiters seeing in the market that gives me a reason to call?

What business problem can I uncover before it becomes a requisition?

How do I get the meeting when everyone else is getting ignored?

And once we’re in — where else can we add value?

You don’t wait for leads to appear. You create them.

You don’t view “no” as the end of the conversation. You determine whether it means no, not now, or not yet.

You stay connected to the delivery team because you understand that the best business developers know what clients are asking for, what talent is doing, what competitors are doing, and where the market is moving.

And you don’t measure success solely by activity. You measure it by doors opened, relationships built, pipeline created, new logos won, clients served, and revenue generated.
