About the Opportunity
As Building & Development Coordinator, you'll provide technical leadership across Council's Building and Development function while supporting and mentoring a capable and enthusiastic team.
You will:
- Lead and develop Building Surveyors and trainee staff
- Provide expert advice on building and development matters
- Support certification, compliance and assessment activities
- Help shape future processes and improvements within the team
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, applicants and the community
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the service
About You
We're interested in speaking with people who bring:
- Current Building Surveyor registration at Restricted (Class 1 & 10) level (or equivalent) if applying for the Building Surveyor opportunity, or Restricted (All Classes of Building) for the Coordinator opportunity, or currently working towards the relevant registration
- Demonstrated experience in the certification of commercial buildings
- Local Government building certification experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative and approachable leadership style
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing others
