Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Operators to support production operations within a food manufacturing facility in Brockport, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to build long-term manufacturing experience while operating and maintaining packaging equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The Machine Operator will be responsible for machine setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and ensuring products meet quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and enjoys hands-on work.
Pay Rate:
- $18.65 - $22.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
- $1.00/Hour Shift Differential for 2nd Shift
- $2.00/Hour Shift Differential for 3rd Shift
Shift(s):
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Duties:
- Set up and operate packaging equipment including corrugated box casers, bagging systems, and radial scale systems
- Perform machine changeovers according to production schedules and specifications
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and assist maintenance personnel with repairs when needed
- Perform routine equipment checks and ensure machines are operating properly
- Verify packaging accuracy, product weights, labeling, and quality requirements
- Maintain production records and complete required documentation
- Follow HACCP, SQF, GMP, food safety, and quality procedures
- Support daily production goals while maintaining safety and efficiency standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, or packaging experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use hand tools and perform basic machine adjustments
- Ability to follow written procedures and production instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work with a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
- Exposure to noise, dust, moisture, heat, humidity, and moving production equipment
- Ability to safely operate machinery while following all safety guidelines
- Must wear required PPE and comply with all food safety and workplace safety standards
