Management Accountant

With a growing portfolio and further growth ahead, the business has created this new Management Accountant position to strengthen its finance capability and provide greater insight and support across its operations.

So, what's the role?
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll take responsibility for management accounting across the Group's retirement village, land lease community and development operations.

It's a broad role with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, reporting and statutory compliance, while also providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts across the Group.
• Preparing management, Board and actual versus budget reporting.
• Providing financial analysis across existing operations and future growth opportunities.
• Managing monthly and quarterly reconciliations, including inter-entity transactions.
• Supporting financial reporting and cash flow management across development projects.
• Working with external accountants and auditors to support year-end reporting and annual audits.
• Ensuring statutory obligations including payroll tax, superannuation and ATO requirements are met.
• Maintaining the integrity of financial information across Xero, Salesforce and other business systems.
• Supporting the COO and CEO with investor reporting and other financial information as required.

You'll also have the opportunity to look at existing processes, systems and reporting and identify ways to make them more efficient. They're very open to new ideas and are looking for someone who will show initiative rather than simply follow the way things have always been done.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced accountant who enjoys taking ownership, can work independently and is confident managing their own priorities.

Ideally you'll bring:

• CA or CPA qualification, or are currently working towards it.
• Management accounting experience across budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Strong financial analysis, reconciliation and month-end accounting skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system.
• A proactive approach with the confidence to identify and implement improvements.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute as part of a small team.
