ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created, senior leadership position reporting to the Chief Legal Officer. The Head of Regulatory Affairs will proactively monitor, interpret and advise on the impact of regulatory change across the fund, protecting members' best financial interests while shaping how Brighter Super engages with its regulators. The role translates complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for the business, and builds the relationships that keep the fund ahead of what's coming next in the superannuation regulatory landscape.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created, senior leadership position reporting to the Chief Legal Officer. The Head of Regulatory Affairs will proactively monitor, interpret and advise on the impact of regulatory change across the fund, protecting members' best financial interests while shaping how Brighter Super engages with its regulators. The role translates complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for the business, and builds the relationships that keep the fund ahead of what's coming next in the superannuation regulatory landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor regulatory developments from APRA, ASIC, Treasury, the ATO, OAIC and other relevant bodies, and run horizon scanning for emerging regulatory risk
- Assess the impact of proposed and enacted regulatory change on fund operations, policies and procedures, and prepare regulatory impact statements for management review
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry bodies including ASFA and the FSC, and represent Brighter Super's interests through policy consultation
- Prepare high quality policy submissions and support the implementation of regulatory change across the business
- Present regulatory impact statements and horizon scanning reports to Executive and Board committees
- Partner closely with Risk, Compliance and the broader Legal team to keep member outcomes central to every regulatory decision
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance or a related discipline
- Significant experience in regulatory affairs or policy roles, ideally within superannuation
- Strong understanding of the Australian superannuation regulatory environment, including APRA prudential standards and ASIC requirements
- Confident engaging and influencing stakeholders at senior and executive level
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulation into clear, actionable guidance
- Legal practice experience is a plus, not essential
- Level III, Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer
- Based in Brisbane or Sydney
- Permanent, full time
