Project Manager - Multi-Residential Construction

A well-established and financially strong Melbourne builder is continuing to grow its project team and is looking to appoint Project Managers at both Intermediate and Senior level.

There are currently two Project Manager opportunities available.
 
Senior Project Manager – Major High-End Apartments Location: Eastern Melbourne
This is a significant appointment working on a major high-end multi-residential development -8 levels, basement, towercranes.

This is an opportunity for an experienced PM to join the project from the very beginning and take ownership through the full construction lifecycle.

The Role
You will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and internal project team.
Responsibilities will include:

• Overall project delivery and leadership
• Programming and project planning
• Design and construction coordination
• Procurement and subcontractor management
• Cost and commercial management
• Quality and compliance
• Stakeholder and client management
• Managing project resources and site teams
• Identifying and resolving construction issues
• Maintaining programme and project milestones
• Managing project risks and opportunities
• Ensuring the project is delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard

The successful candidate will need to be hands-on and construction focused.
This is not a position for someone who simply delegates everything down to the project team. The builder is looking for someone who understands how buildings are actually constructed, is comfortable getting into the detail when required and can provide strong leadership across a complex project.

• 10+ years' construction experience
• Strong apartment / multi-residential background
• Proven experience delivering major building projects
• High-end residential experience highly regarded
• Strong understanding of construction methodology

Project Manager – Social Housing Location: East Melbourne
The second opportunity is suited to an Intermediate Project Manager or Project Manager with previous apartment or multi-residential experience.
The project is a major social housing development comprising: 10 stories, basements.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, working closely with the senior construction team and broader project stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include:

• Project planning and programming
• Subcontractor management
• Procurement
• Design coordination
• Cost and commercial management
• Quality management
• Programme management
• Site coordination
• Client and consultant communication
• Project reporting
• Risk and issue management
• Supporting successful project delivery from construction through to completion

What We're Looking For This role does not require 10+ years' experience.
The builder is open to an experienced Intermediate PM stepping into a larger project, provided you have strong apartment or multi-residential experience.
Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience managing apartment / multi-residential projects
• Strong building knowledge
• Good understanding of construction methodology
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and consultants
• Strong project planning and programming skills
• Commercial awareness
• Good communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to take ownership of project outcomes
• A practical, hands-on approach to construction
