Chief Engineer (Yokohama)

Position Summary:

The primary focus is the coordination of all engineering activities for a specific group of customers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

0. Responsible for timing, cost and quality of all engineering activities for a

specific group of customers.

0. Manage the application engineering team (10-15 engineers)

1. Build and maintain customer relationship

2. Ensure success of the application development programs

3. Support commercial team in acquiring new business

4. Customer specific technical marketing

5. Coordinate the global Tenneco engineering work for this customer

6. Drive standardization and best value engineering

0. Create and manage long and short term resource plans and budgets.

1. Actively support recruiting and hiring of talent.

2. Assess training needs and facilitate training for the group.

3. P & L responsibility.

0. Resource allocation.

0. Support and adhere to EH&S policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful Tracking Record of technical development as Tier1 or Tier2 engineer.

• High level strategic thinking and ability to build senior relationship with customer.

• Strong leadership skill.

• Excellent communication skill.

• Cross functional expertise.

• Excellent knowledge of engine aftertreatment and exhaust systems.

• Business Level communication skill is must in both English and Japanese.

• Problem Solving skill.

• Degree in Engineering - or equivalent experience/knowledge.

0. Ability to work flexibly including night conference calls.

1. Domestic and international travel required.
