Junior Execution Trader - (Upto 52K base/ month)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, privately owned financial advisory and investment firm with a strong international presence. The firm serves high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices, and is known for its entrepreneurial culture and continued growth.

As part of the expansion of its trading function, the firm is seeking a Junior Trader to join its Hong Kong team. This is a hands-on role offering exposure across multiple asset classes and direct involvement in trade execution, working closely with traders, portfolio managers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and execute trades across multiple asset classes, including fixed income, bonds, equities, and structured products

• Manage order flow and ensure timely, accurate execution of trades in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements

• Perform pre-trade checks and ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations

• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients on trade-related queries, particularly in the absence of the senior trader

• Coordinate closely with portfolio managers, relationship managers, and operations teams to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management

• Monitor and follow up on trade settlement, allocations, and reconciliation processes

• Maintain accurate records of trades and transactions

• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives (including use of Python/VBA where applicable)

• Support the development and maintenance of broker and counterparty relationships

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a trading or execution-focused role within a financial institution

• Prior hands-on experience in trade execution is essential (candidates from middle office will only be considered if they have direct execution exposure)

• Experience across equities or fixed income.

• Candidates with Multi-asset class trading experience will be given priority.

• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and market practices

• Proficiency in Python and/or VBA is highly desirable

• High level of maturity and ability to work independently, including handling client and stakeholder queries when required

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication skills in English
