Data Engineer

Overview
We are seeking talented individuals to support the migration of SAS code, workflows, and reporting processes to a Databricks based environment. The successful candidates will work closely with the Data Production team to deliver scalable and sustainable data solutions, ensuring quality and governance standards are upheld throughout.


Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate SAS code, workflows, and reporting processes to Databricks.
• Develop and maintain PySpark, Spark SQL, and SQL-based data solutions.
• Build and support data transformation, validation, and reporting pipelines for both national and international reporting requirements.
• Implement and manage Azure DevOps and Git repositories to enhance source control and deployment processes.
• Conduct data quality testing, reconciliation, and performance optimisation.
• Develop technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to team members through mentoring and training.
• Establish and implement data governance processes, including data quality controls and metadata management.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience leading the migration of SAS-based workflows and reporting processes to Databricks.
• Proven ability to deliver data solutions supporting analytics and operational needs.
• Strong technical documentation and mentoring skills to ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
• A collaborative approach to translating complex business requirements into effective data solutions.

Eligibility 
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Baseline clearances to be found suitable.
