Ways of Working Coach

To ensure its ongoing success, the executive leadership team is committed to a new operating model, and the programme has strong senior sponsorship.

This newly created role, Ways of Working Coach, will work alongside senior leaders to help them understand, adopt and embed new ways of working across their areas. 

The Opportunity:

• Coaching and partnering with executive and senior leaders.
• Helping leaders translate the operating model into practical ways of working.
• Influencing leadership behaviours, decision-making, accountability and collaboration.
• Supporting leaders and their teams through significant organisational change.
• Bringing together Agile, portfolio management and broader transformation approaches in a pragmatic way.
• Navigating different levels of maturity and helping leaders adapt their approach accordingly.
• Building capability so that new ways of working become embedded rather than dependent on a coach.

The environment is complex and dynamic. Some areas already operate in contemporary ways, while others are more traditional, so success will require pragmatism rather than a rigid adherence to any particular framework or methodology.

About you:
You may currently be working as a Ways of Working Coach, Agile Coach, Organisational Transformation Consultant or in a general consulting role where you have helped organisations change how they operate, having a good blend of understanding various frameworks and business acumen.

Agile certification is not essential. More important is your ability to combine an understanding of ways of working with strong commercial and organisational acumen.

In summary, you will bring:

• Strong experience in ways of working, Agile, consulting and/or organisational transformation.
• Excellent business acumen and the ability to understand the broader organisational context.
• Demonstrated experience engaging, coaching and influencing executive and senior stakeholders.
• The credibility and confidence to challenge constructively and operate as a trusted partner.
• An adaptable and pragmatic approach – able to use different methodologies without being constrained by them.
• Strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and take ownership for outcomes.

You will be comfortable working in an environment where leaders have different styles, levels of experience and readiness for change. You will know when to coach, when to challenge and when to adapt your approach to bring people with you.

We are open to different levels of experience and interested in people who can bring something distinctive to the team.
Permanent is preferred, although a 12-month fixed-term arrangement may also be considered for the right person.
