Field Engineer

Our client, headquartered in North America, are building a better autonomous vehicle system that safely moves the world to a greener, more accessible future. Our client transforms cities and solves real-world problems.

Growing in Japan, their Tokyo office requires a Field Mechanical Engineer, to support an expanding fleet of autonomous vehicles.

Role:

• Coordinates and develops the on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in new locations
• Provides mechanical related maintenance / repair support to vehicles, plus supports updates for SW/HW as needed.
• Acts as a technical company representative to customers and the general public
• Coordinates and performs demonstrations of the autonomous technology for potential customers
• Collaborates with Engineers across the organization to identify and develop features to expand system capability and improve the rider experience
• Continuously updates and incorporate lessons learned from past projects, and experiences into documentation to codify organizational knowledge

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and implementing mechanical and electrical hardware and/or experience developing or editing software
• Skills for analyzing traffic conditions and troubleshooting integration software and hardware issues
• Ability to operate and drive AD vehicles
• Japanese drives license
