Position: Molding Technician
Location: Scottsville, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking dependable and mechanically inclined Molding Technicians to join a leading medical manufacturing facility in Scottsville, NY. This long-term temporary opportunity (anticipated 12-month assignment) is ideal for candidates with automated manufacturing experience who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, maintaining process quality, and working in a highly regulated production environment. The Molding Technician is responsible for performing mold changes, monitoring molding operations, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring products consistently meet quality and manufacturing standards.

Pay Rate:

  • $23.29/Hour
    • + 15% Shift Differential (Approx. $26.78/Hour)

Shift(s):

  • Overnight Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM (12-Hour Shifts) Rotating Schedule: 2 Days On, 2 Days Off - Alternating Weekends Off
    • Example:
      • Week 1: Sun (Off), Mon–Tues (On), Wed–Thurs (Off), Fri–Sat (On) = 48 Hours
      • Week 2: Sun (On), Mon–Tues (Off), Wed–Thurs (On), Fri–Sat (Off) = 36

Job Duties:

  • Perform mold base and insert changes for automated molding operations
  • Monitor molding processes using statistical process control (SPC), metrology equipment, and inspection systems
  • Monitor production modules, respond to alarms, and perform minor equipment adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot molding equipment and processes to maintain product quality and maximize yield
  • Utilize metrology and inspection equipment to verify process and product performance
  • Assist with maintaining manufacturing equipment to support production goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Perform tooling adjustments, process testing, and equipment modifications according to established procedures
  • Accurately document process changes, testing results, and production activities
  • Assist with corrective and preventative maintenance activities as requested
  • Notify supervisors of equipment failures, process issues, or quality concerns and assist with corrective actions
  • Participate in equipment validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), continuous improvement projects, and procedural updates
  • Use hand tools to perform equipment adjustments and routine maintenance tasks
  • Work closely with Production Technicians, Supervisors, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to meet production objectives
  • Cross-train team members and assist with training new employees as needed
  • Support production operator responsibilities when required
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMP regulations, FDA requirements, and company safety policies
  • Work overtime, holidays, or extended hours as business needs require

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment required
  • Injection molding or automated production experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred
  • Ability to use metrology and inspection equipment
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, and regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to prioritize work, solve technical problems, and maintain attention to detail
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime, scheduled holidays, and occasional travel (less than 5%)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced automated manufacturing environment producing medical products
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
  • Regular use of hand tools, inspection equipment, and automated production machinery
  • Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to safely perform troubleshooting and equipment adjustments
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures
  • Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, and holidays as production demands require
