About the Company

Established civil contractor specialising in Three Waters, utilities and horizontal infrastructure projects throughout Canterbury and the West Coast.

Known for their technical capability and strong client relationships, they have built a reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure services across the region. With a growing workload and long-term utility contracts in place, they are seeking an experienced Utilities Manager to join their senior leadership team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the COO, you will take ownership of key utility service contracts across the West Coast and Grey District, ensuring strong commercial performance, exceptional client service and successful contract delivery.

Working closely with operational teams, you will focus on contract management, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement while supporting the delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater services. This role will play a key part in strengthening client relationships, improving contract performance and driving positive outcomes for both the client and the business.

About You

  • Experience managing utility, infrastructure, maintenance or service contracts
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability
  • Proven success managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working within water, wastewater, stormwater or broader infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and performance management
  • Leadership experience managing operational teams and subcontractors
  • Solutions-focused with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change
  • Experience with NOC, IDC or similar collaborative contract models would be advantageous
