EQUIP People is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy stone manufacturing workshop in Wellington.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with CNC machining experience who takes pride in producing high-quality finished products. You'll be responsible for operating a range of specialised machinery while maintaining quality, efficiency and safety standards throughout the production process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating CNC and automated stone processing machinery
- Programming and adjusting machine settings from CAD/DFX files where required
- Selecting and preparing materials to maximise yield and minimise waste
- Monitoring machine performance and product quality throughout production
- Reading and interpreting plans and technical drawings
- Carrying out quality checks on finished products
- Completing routine machine maintenance and keeping equipment clean
- Recording material usage and production information accurately
- Working safely while maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Assisting with general factory duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating CNC or automated manufacturing machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good computer skills and confidence working with machine programming
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
- Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing environment
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
