Rental Sales Engineer

Introduction / Context
Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a leading organisation in the Industrial sector to hire a Rental Sales professional. This opportunity is based in Malaysia and offers the chance to drive business growth through customer acquisition, account development, and rental solutions sales.
Position Overview
Drive rental equipment sales growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing customer accounts.
Contribute to revenue generation and market penetration by delivering tailored rental solutions and building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Trane Rental Services customers to ensure maximum revenues through account penetration.
• Establish new rental customers through phone calls and in-person visits to potential customers.
• Present a full range of turnkey services to potential customers.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue business opportunities, build customer relationships.
• Drive the development of programs to create awareness and demand for Rental Service.
• Function as a sales representative and liaison between customers and the office.
• Perform analysis on customer needs and uses, and ascertain current market opportunities.
• Increase sales to existing accounts and establish systematic customer contact to provide ongoing information.
• Maintain records of sales, customer information, and requests by updating data.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of sales experience.
• Understanding of rental business and industries.
• Knowledge of construction or related equipment is preferred; however, candidates with comparable industry experience, a strong sales acumen and record of achievement will be considered.
Technical / Functional Expertise
• High intellectual abilities to sell complex products and customer solutions.
• Equipment troubleshooting skills and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to properly size, quote, install and maintain small less complex, and moderately complex projects; that may range from industrial process cooling, construction and water damage drying, multi-level power distribution at various voltages and large scale climate control projects.
• More experienced sales representatives may be assigned larger and/or more complex projects and equipment solutions.
• Possess knowledge of all type of HVAC equipment.
• Proficiency with computer skills and Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Soft Skills & Leadership Competencies
• Possess strong negotiation and selling skills, and excellent customer service skills.
• Strong presentation and excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.
