Overview:

  • This person is the single point of contact to the Project Management organization for the engineering project timing plan and execution of all engineering activities and deliverables by supervising Engineering project sub-teams.

R&R:

  • Responsible to prepare and execute Design Reviews & Peer Reviews and completeness of the Design Review workbook in compliance with product development process.

  • Approve Start/Stop/Change/Signoff of engineering activity on project/component level work packages.

  • Responsible for the evaluation and management of internal and customer technical (product) change requests, provide an estimation (effort/timing/cost) and the impact of the change.

  • Develop and maintain compliant Engineering deliverables timing (HW (ME/EE), Validation, SW, Systems) in collaboration with the Program Management.

  • Responsible for coordination and delivery of the product solution hand-over to customer at milestones.

  • Monitor Engineering budget input for BBP cycle: Resource demand, Capital expense, material, credits.

  • Responsible for working with competency leads and/or Engineering Program Leaders in identifying and fulfilling staffing assignments for the engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (SW or EE) with a minimum of 10 years automotive experience

  • Understanding of the V cycle and all parts down and up

  • JOEM direct customer interfacing; discussion, negotiation, relationship building

  • Fluent Japanese (N2 or higher) plus business level English

  • Must be residing in Japan to apply
