The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Team Lead to lead a high-performing systems administration and maintenance team supporting critical enterprise platforms within a secure and highly regulated environment.
Reporting to senior technical leadership, you will oversee operational service delivery, coordinate incident management activities, and work closely with engineering, operations and customer stakeholders to ensure the ongoing availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
This role combines technical leadership, service management and stakeholder engagement, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, driving continuous improvement and delivering outcomes that matter.

The Role

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of systems administrators and technical specialists.
- Ensure the ongoing sustainment, availability and performance of critical enterprise systems.
- Coordinate major incident response activities and drive timely resolution of operational issues.
- Manage service delivery activities in accordance with ITIL principles and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, operational and customer stakeholders to achieve project and operational objectives.
- Contribute to technical strategy, governance and service improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on service performance, operational risks and key delivery metrics.
- Support workforce development through coaching, mentoring and capability uplift activities.
- Provide leadership coverage and support across the maintenance and operational support functions.
- Operate within a mixed technology environment that includes Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server platforms.
What You Will Bring
Essential
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of IT service management and ITIL-aligned incident and problem management processes.
- Proven ability to coordinate operational support activities and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Experience working within Defence, Intelligence or other highly secure Government environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop technical teams.
- Technical certifications relating to Linux, Windows Server, cloud or virtualisation technologies.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Qualifications or certifications in project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum.
- Experience supporting capability sustainment programs in Defence or National Security environments.
