Commercial Director – Adult Social Care Location: London | Salary: £70,000 New Way Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial Director / Business Development Director with a strong background in adult social care to lead commercial strategy, business development and sustainable growth for an established care organisation. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially astute professional who understands the complexities of the adult social care market and knows how to translate strong relationships, commissioning opportunities and market intelligence into sustainable commercial performance. The Opportunity As Commercial Director, you will take strategic ownership of commercial growth, developing new business opportunities while strengthening existing relationships with commissioners, local authorities, ICBs, referral partners and other key stakeholders. You will be responsible for: Developing and delivering the organisation’s commercial and business development strategy. Identifying and converting new adult social care business opportunities. Building senior-level relationships with local authorities, commissioners, ICBs and referral networks. Leading commercial negotiations, tenders, contracts, fee reviews and partnership agreements. Driving occupancy, referrals, revenue growth and service development. Identifying new markets, commissioning opportunities and areas for strategic expansion. Monitoring commissioning trends, competitor activity and changes across the adult social care sector. Developing robust sales and business development pipelines, KPIs and commercial reporting. Strengthening referral pathways and maximising opportunities across existing services. Working closely with Operations, Quality and Finance leadership to ensure commercial growth is sustainable and aligned with care quality. Providing commercial insight and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team. Supporting organisational growth, service development and future commercial opportunities. About You We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Commercial Directors, Business Development Directors, Sales Directors, Heads of Business Development or senior Commercial Managers who have operated within adult social care. You will ideally have: Proven senior-level commercial or business development experience within adult social care. Strong understanding of the UK social care commissioning landscape. Established relationships with commissioners, local authorities, ICBs and referral organisations. Experience managing commercial pipelines, occupancy, referrals, contracts and revenue growth. Strong negotiation and influencing capability at senior stakeholder level. Experience developing and implementing commercial strategies across multiple services or locations. A strong understanding of the relationship between commercial performance, operational delivery and quality of care. A strategic yet hands-on approach to business development. Excellent communication, relationship-building and leadership skills. A genuine passion for supporting high-quality outcomes for people receiving care.
