The company operates across two regions and is looking for someone who can combine strong financial management skills with commercial awareness, leadership and a proactive, hands-on approach.
This is a key appointment within the senior finance team, offering genuine responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to influence financial performance and decision-making across the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director and managing a small finance team, you'll take responsibility for overseeing financial reporting, cash flow and financial planning across two regional operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
-
Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet reporting and financial controls.
-
Managing cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning across both regions.
-
Monitoring site and project performance, including valuations, work in progress and cost-to-complete forecasts.
-
Working closely with regional directors and operational teams to provide financial insight and support commercial decisions.
-
Reviewing financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and challenging assumptions.
-
Leading, supporting and developing members of the finance team.
-
Supporting statutory reporting, year-end accounts, audit and financial compliance.
-
Ensuring consistency in financial reporting and processes across both regions.
-
Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a qualified accountant with strong financial management experience, ideally gained within housebuilding, construction or a similar project-based business.
Ideally, you'll bring:
-
ACCA or CIMA qualification.
-
Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
-
Experience within housebuilding or construction would be a significant advantage.
-
A good understanding of project accounting, including work in progress, site valuations and cost-to-complete reporting.
-
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret financial information to support business decisions.
-
Confidence working with senior management and challenging financial and operational performance.
-
Previous experience managing, supporting and developing finance teams.
-
Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
-
A proactive, confident approach with the ability to take ownership and work across multiple business areas.
Experience of COINS accounting software would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Finance Managers as well as strong Financial Controllers who are ready to take the next step in their careers.
Above all, we're looking for someone commercially aware, confident and approachable, who can build strong working relationships and manage the financial demands of a busy, multi-site business.
What's on Offer?
-
Salary up to £67,500 depending on experience.
-
£6,000 annual car allowance or company car.
-
Bonus scheme of up to 20%.
-
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
-
Option to purchase up to five additional days' annual leave.
-
5% pension.
