Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Safety Manager to join the team and play a key leadership role across a major residential development.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the health, safety and compliance function across a major multi-residential project. You'll work closely with project leadership, site teams and subcontractors to ensure safety is embedded into every stage of delivery while supporting programme, quality and commercial outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive a positive safety culture, coordinate high-risk activities and ensure legislative and company compliance requirements are consistently achieved.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the health, safety and compliance function across a major multi-residential project. You'll work closely with project leadership, site teams and subcontractors to ensure safety is embedded into every stage of delivery while supporting programme, quality and commercial outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive a positive safety culture, coordinate high-risk activities and ensure legislative and company compliance requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all project health and safety activities across site
- Promote a proactive and positive safety culture among employees and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and company policies
- Coordinate and monitor high-risk construction activities
- Conduct site inspections, audits and critical risk verification activities
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with project leadership to integrate safety into construction planning and delivery
- Manage subcontractor safety performance and compliance
- Prepare and maintain project safety documentation and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the project
About You
You'll be an experienced construction safety professional with a strong background delivering large-scale building projects, ideally within the multi-residential sector.
You'll also bring
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Safety Manager, Senior Safety Advisor or Safety Manager within commercial or multi-residential construction
- Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and principal contractor obligations
- Experience managing safety on complex, multi-storey building projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence site teams and subcontractors
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum), with tertiary qualifications highly regarded
- Experience with One Breadcrumb or similar digital safety management systems will be highly regarded, with the business planning to implement the platform later this year
