The Company

Over more than 20 years, the business has built a strong reputation for designing and manufacturing specialised industrial hose and fluid transfer solutions for customers across Australia and New Zealand. With continued growth, investment in systems, and a collaborative leadership team, they're looking for an Assistant Accountant who can become a genuine second-in-command to the Head of Finance.

Due to the nature of a manufacturing business, this role is onsite 5 days. Occasional WFH flexibility after probation but not as a set day.
 

The Role

Working closely with the experienced Head of Finance, you'll gain exposure well beyond a traditional AP/AR position while taking ownership of the day-to-day operation of the finance function.

Your task and responsibilities will include:

• Managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Completing bank reconciliations, payment runs, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end activities
• Assisting with management reporting, BAS preparation, fixed assets, and financial reporting
• Maintaining customer and supplier master data while supporting ERP processes
• Identifying process improvements and contribute to the continued development of the finance function

 
About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Comfortable completing journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes
• Confidence using ERP systems together with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Initiative to be a proactive, organised person who enjoys taking ownership and has excellent attention to detail
