Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of sustainability reporting requirements, including climate-related disclosures, emissions reporting and group level submissions
- Develop and embed sustainability reporting policies, frameworks, measurement methodologies, reporting calendars, documentation standards and internal controls.
- Establish efficient and validated data collection processes across a variety of sources including energy, procurement, operations, transport, HR and finance.
- Become the key sustainability reporting expert, assisting with decision making and updating various stakeholders across management, Finance, Sustainability, Risk and Operations
- Integrate sustainability reporting into broader financial reporting governance, close processes, management reporting and assurance planning.
- Support climate-related risk and opportunity reporting, including governance, strategy, risk management, metrics and targets disclosures.
- Lead the internal and external audit processes in relation to sustainability reporting.
- Drive process improvement, automation and reporting transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, integrity and consistency of sustainability data.
- Lead, coach and develop the Sustainability Analysts, allocating work, reviewing outputs and building technical capability across the team.
To be successful in this position you will hold:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, economics, sustainability, environmental science, engineering, climate-related disciplines or a related field.
- Strong technical grounding in accounting, audit, assurance, governance, controls or regulatory reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in sustainability, ESG, climate, carbon or non-financial reporting, preferably within construction, infrastructure, property, energy, resources, manufacturing or a related sector.
- Experience developing reporting policies, frameworks, methodologies, internal controls and assurance-ready documentation.
- Advanced analytical skills, including experience working with complex data sets, reconciliations, reporting models and data quality controls.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate technical reporting requirements for non-specialist audiences.
