Position Title: Engineering Manager – Ride Performance

Location: Yokohama, Japan

Reports To: Director - RP

 

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing all engineering’s aspects of the Ride Performance business at Tenneco Japan, key interface to Alliance Partners, customers and other Tenneco SBUs.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as primary Performance customers interface for Japan; interface with relevant JOE engineering contacts globally; develop and maintain relationships with JOE Japan –based customers.

  • Lead Ride Performance engineering team in Japan

  • Customer Engineering Contact

  • Respond to customer questions and manage our response.

  • Technical negotiations

  • Participation in early concept development activities with customers

  • Manage sample build activity

  • Quality / performance checks

  • Monitor and confirm testing, Tuning

  • Technical communication window for Tenneco Japan

  • Supervise mechanics and ride engineers and Engineering activities for Ride Performance

  • Other project Management and ride work activity

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 7 years plus engineering work experience in related field or Advanced Degree with minimum of 5 years engineering work experience

  • B.S in Engineering or advanced.

  • Knowledge of suspension system or/and ride control product are must.

  • Global experience/exposure

  • Strong Leadership skill

  • 　 Excellent Communication skill.

  • Business Level communication skill is must in both English and Japanese.

  • High personal drive

  • Knowledge/Experience in manufacturing engineering is preferable.

  • Ability to work flexibly hours including early morning / late night conference calls

  • Domestic and international travel required
