Head of Compliance

Monroe Consulting Group is representing a leading organization within the asset management and capital markets sector in its search for an experienced Head of Compliance to lead its compliance function in Jakarta.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a compliance professional with strong capital market expertise, direct regulatory exposure and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior management.

The Role

As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for leading the organization's compliance framework and ensuring adherence to applicable investment management and capital market regulations.

You will also play a key role in maintaining relationships with Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), advising senior stakeholders on regulatory matters and ensuring the organization maintains a strong culture of compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the overall Compliance function and team.
• Ensure compliance with applicable investment management and capital market regulations.
• Manage engagement with OJK, including regulatory reporting, inspections, inquiries and follow-up on findings.
• Oversee the organization's AML / APU-PPT framework.
• Provide oversight of transaction monitoring and suitability processes.
• Support product governance from a regulatory and compliance perspective.
• Lead regulatory audits, inspections and remediation of regulatory findings.
• Provide practical regulatory and compliance advice to the BOD and senior management.
• Partner closely with Risk, Audit, Legal and Business functions.
• Strengthen compliance processes, controls and organizational capability.
• Develop and lead a high-performing Compliance team.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Compliance, Risk or Audit.
• At least 5 years of experience in Asset Management / Capital Markets.
• Proven direct experience dealing with OJK.
• Current or recent experience at Head, VP or equivalent senior management level.
• Proven experience leading a team or compliance function.
• Strong knowledge of investment management and capital market regulations.
• Hands-on experience with AML / APU-PPT requirements.
• Experience across several of the following areas:
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Suitability processes
  • Product governance
  • Regulatory audits / inspections
  • Regulatory findings and remediation
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial and business considerations.

Candidates from Asset Management, Securities / Investment Banking or Custodian Banking environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
