THE ROLE:
This is a senior Applications Engineer position combining technical leadership, proposal development and customer engagement. You'll work closely with sales, engineering and project teams to develop automation solutions and manage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the development of technical proposals, budgets and cost estimates
- Work with customers to understand project requirements and develop automation concepts
- Support sales teams during qualification and technical discussions
- Present solutions and technical proposals to customers
- Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure project feasibility
- Manage customer relationships throughout project delivery and post-installation support
- Support change orders, scope management and commercial discussions
- Mentor junior Applications Engineers and support best practices across the team
THE PERSON:
This role will suit an experienced Applications Engineer, Proposal Engineer, Project Engineer or Automation Engineer looking to move into a more customer-facing position. Candidates from machine building, automation, special purpose machinery or capital equipment environments will be particularly well suited.
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in Applications Engineering, Project Engineering or Proposal Engineering
- Background in automation, machine building or engineered solutions
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing experience
- Experience developing technical proposals and project cost estimates
- Proficiency with SolidWorks
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences projects would be advantageous

LOCATION:
Ideally based in Limerick, Clare, Tipperary or North Cork, but open to candidates located across Munster who are willing to travel as required.
