Assistant Accountant

We’re looking for a detail-focused Assistant Accountant who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving, and keeping systems in harmony.

You’ll support the Director of Finance & Operations across daily, monthly, and annual financial cycles.  While it is transactional you will be also involved in assisting with budgeting/forecasting and some business partnering.

Your work will include:

• Preparing reconciliations
• Processing transactions 
• Month-end journals 
• AP, AR, supplier payments, and invoice management
• Cashflow summaries, and GST returns
• Payroll processing
• Grant financial reporting
• Maintaining fixed assets 

You’ll thrive here if you bring:

• Accounting qualification or strong hands-on experience
• Solid background across AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and payroll
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with Xero (essential)
• Ability to prioritise, organise, and work accurately under pressure
• A positive, proactive approach and great communication skills
