Assistant Accountant

Our client is a well-known leader in the hospitality and entertainment industry. They are seeking a motivated and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth execution of financial processes and providing key support for financial reporting and compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in preparing accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements) and IAS (Instalment Activity Statements) in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Manage payroll tax submissions and ensure accurate processing.
• Supervise bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to maintain financial stability.
• Reconcile credit cards and employee reimbursements in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with auditors by providing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and improve efficiency.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA/CPA qualifications (completed or in progress) are preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within the hospitality or retail sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB Advanced or Acumatica ERP is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyze data and solve financial problems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
