Product Owner

Product Owner | Permanent | Auckland (Hybrid)
We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a large Auckland-based organisation investing in its technology and digital capability.

About the role
In this role you’ll sit at the intersection of business and technology, taking ownership of product priorities and ensuring delivery teams are focused on the work that will create the greatest value.

Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, Business Analysts and other delivery specialists, you’ll translate business needs and opportunities into clear priorities, maintain and manage the product backlog, and provide the direction teams need to move from idea through to delivery.

You'll be responsible for: 

• Owning and maintaining product roadmaps and priorities. Making pragmatic decisions around scope, priorities and trade-offs
• Developing, refining and prioritising the product backlog
• Translating business and customer needs into clear outcomes and requirements
• Bringing stakeholders together around a clear product direction
• Using data, insights and feedback to inform priorities and measure outcomes. Managing dependencies and working across multiple teams and initiatives
• Ensuring delivered solutions provide tangible business and customer value

About you
You’ll be an experienced Product Owner who is comfortable operating in a large, complex organisation and balancing the needs of customers, stakeholders and technology teams. You'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Product Owner within a technology or digital environment
• Strong product ownership, backlog management and prioritisation experience, including developing and maintaining product roadmaps
• A good understanding of modern software development and delivery practices and experience working closely with developers, Business Analysts, architects and other technology specialists
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work across different areas of a business with the ability to turn complex business needs into clear, actionable priorities
• A data-led approach to decision-making and measuring outcomes
• The ability to navigate competing priorities and make pragmatic trade-offs.
