Intermediate Accounant - Business Advisory

The Opportunity

An established mid-market accounting and advisory firm is looking for a Business Advisory Accountant to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in business services, tax and compliance who is ready to broaden their skill set and move into more commercially focused advisory work.

Working closely with a Director and senior team members, you'll support a diverse client base of entrepreneurial and growing businesses, gaining exposure to management reporting, forecasting, corporate governance and broader business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare management reports and undertake financial analysis using Xero, MYOB and Reckon.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning.
• Provide commercial insights and advisory support to help clients improve business performance.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to management consulting and corporate governance engagements.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, tax returns and other compliance requirements.
• Support clients with financial reporting and identify opportunities to improve their operations.
• Work alongside senior team members on a variety of advisory projects, with increasing client responsibility over time.

About You

You'll have a solid foundation in public practice accounting and be keen to develop your commercial and advisory capabilities beyond traditional compliance work.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience in business services, business advisory or tax within public practice.
• A relevant accounting qualification and be studying towards, or looking to complete, your CA or CPA.
• Strong technical skills across financial statements, tax compliance and management reporting.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to engage with clients.
• A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a commercial mindset.
• A genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate, improve and grow.
