Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to enhance our production processes and boost operational efficiency at our Chandler, AZ location. This role focuses on applying lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, cut costs, and improve quality, safety, and productivity. You will spearhead continuous improvement projects, design efficient workflows, and support the introduction of new products in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and 5S initiatives to optimize workflows and eliminate waste.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
    • Identify and implement strategies to enhance throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Create and maintain standard work instructions.
    • Perform line balancing, cycle time analysis, and time studies.
    • Analyze production data to pinpoint bottlenecks and propose solutions.
  • Facility Layout and Material Flow:
    • Design and execute efficient factory layouts and workstation configurations.
    • Develop material handling systems to enhance flow and reduce non-value-added activities.
    • Support cellular manufacturing and other lean layout strategies.
  • Quality and Cost Control:
    • Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools.
    • Identify cost reduction opportunities and develop ROI justifications for capital expenditures.
    • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to improve product quality and minimize scrap and rework.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI):
    • Support new product launches by developing manufacturing methods, tooling, and fixtures.
    • Work with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
    • Evaluate manufacturability and recommend process improvements.
  • Safety and Ergonomics:
    • Perform safety audits and ergonomic assessments.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance operator safety and compliance with regulations.
    • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet company safety standards.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
    • Train and mentor employees on lean tools and best manufacturing practices.
    • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and process improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Synchro or similar) and CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX).
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
