The Role

As an Account Manager, you will act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of customers, ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered successfully. You'll work closely with internal departments, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Act as the primary contact for all account-related enquiries
  • Prepare detailed and accurate order documentation and job specifications
  • Confirm order details with customers and resolve any missing information
  • Manage amendments and changes throughout the order process
  • Coordinate stock and material purchases with suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and lead times
  • Work collaboratively with sales, production, and operational teams
  • Monitor project schedules and customer deadlines
  • Ensure products are delivered in line with customer expectations
  • Identify opportunities to develop existing customer accounts
  • Support business growth through proactive customer engagement
  • Resolve customer queries, issues, and escalations professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting information

About You

To be successful in this Account Manager role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Sales Administration, Project Coordination, or a similar customer-facing role
  • Experience within manufacturing, joinery, construction, building products, or a related industry
  • Knowledge of doors, fire doors, frames, glazing, ironmongery, or associated products would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Confidence working with customers, suppliers, and production teams
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and order processing systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
