Paediatric Nurse / Registered General Nurse (Paediatric Experience)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Paediatric Nurse or Registered General Nurse with paediatric experience to provide specialist one-to-one nursing care for a child with complex healthcare needs in their family home in Malahide, Co. Dublin.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to deliver person-centred care in a home environment, supporting a child to remain safe, comfortable, and well cared for while maintaining their daily routine and quality of life. You'll work closely with the child, their family, and the wider clinical team to provide consistent, high-quality nursing care tailored to the child's individual needs.
This role offers the chance to build meaningful relationships with the child and their family while focusing your attention on one patient throughout each shift, allowing you to provide personalised, compassionate care in a calm home setting.

Shift Pattern

The current care package includes:

• 5 x 8-hour day shifts per week
• 2 x 8-hour night shifts per week
• Shifts are available Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays.

The client's home is easily accessible by public transport, with regular bus services nearby and Malahide DART Station approximately a 10–15 minute walk away.

Pay Rates

Day Shifts

• Monday–Saturday: €30 per hour
• Sunday: €45 per hour
• Bank Holidays: €60 per hour

Night Shifts

• Monday–Saturday: €35 per hour
• Sunday: €50 per hour
• Bank Holidays: €70 per hour

Key Responsibilities

As part of the child's care team, you'll be responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with an individualised care plan. Duties may include:

• Providing specialist one-to-one nursing care within the family home.
• Medication administration and management.
• Supporting and monitoring oral feeding.
• Ongoing clinical observation and assessment.
• Supporting a child with complex healthcare needs.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation.
• Communicating effectively with the child's family and the multidisciplinary team.
• Promoting a safe, supportive, and child-centred environment at all times.
• Responding appropriately to changes in the child's clinical condition and escalating concerns when required.

Requirements

To be considered, you'll need:

• Active NMBI registration.
• Paediatric nursing experience, or strong Registered General Nursing experience with paediatric care exposure.
• Experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs is desirable.
• Medication management experience.
• Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills.
• A compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
