Contract Psychologist – Neurodevelopmental Assessments

We are seeking an experienced Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychologist to join a supportive, multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments to children, young people and families.

This is an excellent part-time contract opportunity offering flexible working arrangements and competitive rates, making it ideal for an experienced Psychologist looking for greater flexibility alongside other professional commitments.

You will play a key role in delivering comprehensive assessments across Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability and other neurodevelopmental presentations, working collaboratively with an experienced MDT and senior clinicians.

The Role

As a Contract Psychologist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of neurodevelopmental assessments.
• Completing remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers.
• Contributing to collaborative MDT diagnostic discussions with support from senior clinicians.
• Providing clear, compassionate feedback to children, young people and families.
• Preparing high-quality clinical reports and diagnostic formulations.
• Applying your expertise in differential diagnosis and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

We are looking for Psychologists with:

• A recognised Level 8 Psychology qualification or equivalent.
• A postgraduate professional qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an appropriate recognised qualification in Educational Psychology.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience conducting diagnostic assessments for Autism, ADHD and/or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis.
• Experience conducting cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments.
• Training and experience using diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R.
• Excellent clinical report-writing skills.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach when working with children, young people and families.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland.
