Re-engagement Peer Support Coordinator

Harris Hill is delighted to be working with a leading peer-led organisation supporting people living with HIV to recruit an Engagement Peer Support Coordinator.

North West London | £32,000 pro rata | 24.5 hours per week | 12-month contract

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with lived experience of HIV to use their expertise to support people who have become disengaged from HIV care and help them reconnect with appropriate services.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:

• Contact and engage people living with HIV by phone, text, email and community outreach.
• Carry out home visits and community-based support where appropriate.
• Build trusting, person-centred relationships with clients.
• Assess individual needs and co-create wellbeing plans.
• Provide advocacy and support clients to attend appointments.
• Signpost and refer to health, welfare, housing and immigration services.
• Support clients with hardship grants and relevant referrals.
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and monitor client progress.
• Work closely with NHS clinical teams, peer workers and community partners.
• Attend meetings, supervision and relevant training.

About You

You will have:

• Lived with HIV for at least two years and be open about your status.
• A strong understanding of the social, economic and psychological issues affecting people living with HIV.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to empowering clients and maintaining professional boundaries.
• The ability to manage your own caseload and priorities.
• Good IT and record-keeping skills.
• A collaborative and reflective approach to your work.

Desirable experience includes:

• Peer support or advocacy.
• Supporting people with complex needs.
• Navigating health, social care or voluntary-sector services.
• Knowledge of benefits, housing or immigration systems.
• Knowledge of services supporting people living with HIV in London.
• Speaking a community language.

The role is open to people living with HIV under a genuine occupational requirement for peer-led support.
