We’re working with a leading UK not-for-profit organisation that is undertaking a major Data, Digital and Technology Transformation Programme. As part of this programme, they are looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to join the team on a 6-month contract, providing parental leave cover for a key technical role.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on data migration professional to play a central role in a significant CRM transformation, helping ensure that data is accurately extracted, cleansed, transformed and successfully migrated into a new CRM environment.

The role

You’ll act as a key technical contact for data migration activities throughout the contract, working closely with internal teams, external partners and technical stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Extracting data from legacy systems using SQL and agreed extraction procedures.

  • Analysing source data to identify quality issues, anomalies, gaps and inconsistencies.

  • Cleansing, standardising and transforming data in line with approved business rules and mapping specifications.

  • Designing and maintaining data mappings, migration documentation, procedures and technical runbooks.

  • Creating and maintaining datasets for migration, testing, reconciliation and validation.

  • Delivering migration activities across development, test and production environments.

  • Supporting the design and execution of migration cutover activities.

  • Investigating and categorising data quality issues and ensuring appropriate resolution.

  • Reviewing extraction approaches, transformation logic and migration outputs.

  • Providing technical guidance and quality assurance to colleagues.

  • Tracking and reporting on migration progress, risks, issues and dependencies.

  • Acting as a primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Significant hands-on experience using SQL for complex data extraction and selection.

  • Strong knowledge of data migration principles and methodologies.

  • Experience working with CRM data, ideally within a non-profit, charity or membership environment.

  • Experience designing and implementing complex cross-system data mappings.

  • The ability to translate business and data requirements into robust technical data-selection criteria.

  • Experience leading or taking ownership of data migration execution.

  • Strong understanding of data quality, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation and validation.

  • Knowledge of payment processing, particularly Direct Debits and Gift Aid.

Desirable experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working within an Agile delivery environment.

  • Experience with Salesforce, particularly Nonprofit Cloud/Agentforce for Nonprofits.

  • Knowledge of FinDock and its data model.

  • Previous experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector.

  • BCS PDMv3 or an equivalent data management/migration qualification.
