Fundraising Officer

Step into a pivotal fundraising role where you’ll drive income growth across regional and community channels, challenge events, and sponsorship, all while delivering excellent supporter care. This is a temporary opportunity offering remote or hybrid working based in Essex, ideal for an experienced fundraiser who can quickly make an impact and build strong donor relationships.

About the Role:
You will lead on planning and delivering a mix of regional and community fundraising activities, challenge events, and event sponsorship to meet agreed income targets. Working closely with internal teams and supporters, you’ll manage end-to-end campaigns, from prospecting and cultivation through to stewardship and post-event evaluation. Your work will directly enhance supporter experience and strengthen the organisation’s fundraising pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver and monitor regional and community fundraising activities to achieve agreed income and engagement targets.
* Coordinate and manage challenge events and other fundraising events, including logistics, communications, and on-the-day support.
* Develop and manage event sponsorship opportunities, including researching prospects, preparing proposals, and securing sponsorship agreements.
* Provide high-quality supporter care, ensuring timely, personalised and professional communication with donors, participants and community fundraisers.
* Use the Raiser’s Edge database to record and maintain accurate supporter and event data, track income, and produce regular reports.
* Implement donor cultivation plans, including follow-up, stewardship journeys and tailored engagement activities to maximise retention and uplift.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create compelling fundraising materials and event collateral that support recruitment and income generation.
* Monitor performance of fundraising activities, evaluating results and making recommendations to improve future campaigns.

Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in regional and community fundraising, including planning and delivering income-generating activities.
* Track record of managing challenge events and fundraising events from concept through to delivery and evaluation.
* Demonstrated ability to provide excellent supporter care and build strong, long-term relationships with donors and participants.
* Experience securing and managing event sponsorship, including prospecting and negotiation.
* Confident user of fundraising databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge, with strong data management and reporting skills.
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a temporary, fast-paced environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different supporter audiences.
* Ability to work effectively on a remote or hybrid basis, with good self-management and proactive communication.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience working with charities or non-profit organisations in Essex or the surrounding region.
* Knowledge of current community and events fundraising trends and best practice.
* Experience developing digital promotion for fundraising and challenge events.
* Familiarity with integrating fundraising campaigns across multiple channels (online, community, corporate).

Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field.
* Professional fundraising qualification (e.g. IoF/Chartered Institute of Fundraising) is desirable.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in fundraising, supporter care or events management is an advantage.
