This position leads in improving and utilizing the systems and procedures of Tech Center and directs day to day technical center operation. This position is also responsible for a facility budget/ profit, its monitoring as well as short term and long term goal setting and achievement. Represent the facility in relationship with local customer(s) , suppliers and governments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Set short term and long term goal and their achievement

Lead general planning, budgeting ,cost profit control

Technical Marketing

Technical partner management
-
Lead local application development
-
Development of Japan technical capabilities and processes
-
Accelerate the development of local engineering competencies
-
Represent the facility at customer/supplier meetings
-
Develop and direct testing and prototyping system and process which meet customers requirement
-
Maintain the facility efficiently aligned with global/local facility team and each centers
-
Lead and maintain NPIS process for the technical center
-
Supervisory responsibilities( hiring, training, goal setting, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees)

Lead facility management team though regular staff meeting
-
Coordinate with local EHS rep to establish safe and healthy working environment

Take ownership in daily safety activities
-
Coordinate with/support managers in the further development.

Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports through PA/ IDP process.
-
Serve as champion for company initiatives and programs for such as TS, ISO and customers qualifications
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

Strategy building and execution

Global experience / exposure

Leadership skill

Excellent communication skill

Minimum 10 years working experience in auto industry and minimum 7 years working experience in engineering

Experience with Japanese OEMs

Extensive knowledge of the facility and prototype shop management best practices.

Process knowledge of validation testing, prototyping and some related analysis method
-
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
-
Business Level English communication skill is a must
-
Experience in financial & technical business negotiations
-
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university.

High personal drive
-
Ability to work flexible hours including early morning / late night conference calls
-
Domestic and international travel required
