Customs Specialist - International Trade

Asia Customs Operations Specialist who support Asia sourcing offices with accurate, compliant, and timely customs guidance—primarily for exports from China/Asia into the EU/UK. This role is hands-on across customs clearance support, broker/3PL coordination, export documentation checks, and customs data quality, with exposure to regulatory readiness topics such as EUDR and CBAM.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the go-to customs contact for Asia sourcing offices on day-to-day clearance enquiries and issue resolution

Partner with the nominated customs broker to improve processes, turnaround times, and accuracy

Perform data checking/cleansing in sourcing systems (e.g., Apex) and promote strong master data practices

Audit vendor export documentation (invoice, packing list, B/L, COO, HS codes) and follow up on compliance gaps

Support vendors/3PLs in resolving customs holds, exceptions, and documentation discrepancies

Produce KPI reporting on vendor customs compliance and recurring issue trends

Track and communicate new customs regulations in Asia origin countries; drive implementation follow-up

Brief internal teams and vendors on new requirements and provide practical guidance/training

Support cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Sourcing, Finance, Trade Finance, Sustainability) including CBAM/EUDR related topics

Assist with GNFR customs processes and return shipments when required

Requirements

Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and customs data requirements in Asia

Solid hands-on customs operations experience, ideally with China → EU/UK shipment flows

Experience preparing/reviewing customs declarations and working closely with brokers

Strong Excel skills; confident working with operational datasets and compliance reporting

Able to work with factory/vendor networks in China and influence data/document discipline

Professional communication skills in English + Mandarin/Cantonese (preferred/required depending on market)
