Mechanical Engineer - Display

General Description (Purpose of the placement, Scope of program):

• Display Product Application Engineer.
• Key tasks are to work with customer on Structural requirements capture and communication with India mechanical engineering team on detailed design.
• Additionally, Important capabilities are to understand Optical requirements, Display characteristics, Thermal management and to discuss the product architecture with Global Architecture team or to lead discussion with Optical and Display Engineers.

Specific Responsibilities (Detailed information of the position's R&R):

• Engage with Customer and capture Mechanical requirements as inputs for Display product concept development
• Initiate and Review Display Product Architecture with global team such as instrument clusters, Center display etc for automobiles
• Lead the integration of product into the customer’s vehicle including overseeing packaging activities.
• Ensuring development and reliability testing is sufficient and appropriate to meet customers’ requirements.
• Regular review with customer development department on technical issues
• Manage overseas team of CAD engineers who will produce 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
• Ensure design quality and process consistency.
• Interface with internal overseas development teams to lead design expert reviews in the area of Structure, Display, Optics and Thermal Mgt.
• Peer review other engineers designs to ensure design quality.
• Joint development work with domestic and overseas manufacturing plants for design for manufacturing and issue resolution.
• Review and Deliver technical presentation to customer on overall Display product feasibility.
• Report the development of resource requirement estimates.
• Develop Timing schedule for display product along with OEM timing schedule.

Requirements

Required skills and experiences:

• Mechanical Development experience of more than 5 years in Automotive Electronics (MUST have TFT or Display products experience)
• Knowledge of display devices such as TFT – direct application experience an advantage
• Knowledge of Thermal mgt for Display product - TFT thermal Mgt.
• Knowledge or development experience of Optically bonded product
• Experience of supervising a team, including work task assignment and process compliance with Overseas team. ・Understand CAE simulation report such as Structural, Vibration, Thermal and propose improvement. ・Understanding of 3D design (CAD) and Kowledge for 2D drafting STD (GD&T) for instructing CAD team in India ・Experience of the design requirements for plastic molding and material selection.
• Experience in aluminium or magnesium diecasting or thixomolding an advantage.

Preferred skills and experiences:

• Development experience for Water sealed Body electronics Product. (water-tight camera or mobile device)
