The Company

An established and leading supplier of building and construction materials, operating a substantial branch network across Ireland. The business serves a broad range of trade and commercial customers, supplying products across multiple construction categories.

Following a period of investment, growth and organisational change, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Branch Manager to lead one of its key branches in Dublin and drive its next phase of commercial performance.

The Role

Based in Dublin, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and commercial performance of a sizeable branch, leading a team of approximately 22 employees.

This is a senior commercial management position, combining sales leadership, people management and operational oversight. With an existing operational management structure in place, the focus will be on driving revenue, developing key customer relationships, winning new business and improving overall branch performance.

You will manage a significant branch operation with ambitious growth targets, taking ownership of both the commercial strategy and the performance of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 22 employees
• Take ownership of branch sales, profitability and overall performance
• Drive new business and identify opportunities to grow market share
• Develop and maintain relationships with major contractors and key accounts
• Set commercial priorities and ensure the team delivers against targets
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations, working closely with the operational management team
• Monitor performance and implement improvements across sales and service
• Maintain high standards of customer service, stock management and operational efficiency

The Person

We're looking for a commercially minded manager with a strong understanding of the builders' merchant, construction supplies or distribution environment.

Previous Branch Manager experience would be advantageous, but candidates from strong commercial or operational management backgrounds will also be considered, provided they understand the merchant market and the demands of running a busy branch.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience leading and developing a sizeable team
• Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving performance
• An understanding of builders' merchants, construction supplies or distribution
• Experience managing major customer relationships and contractor accounts
• The ability to balance sales growth with operational efficiency
• A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach
• The confidence to make decisions, challenge performance and hold people accountable
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to set direction and deliver results
