LORG Talent is partnering with an established truck dealership to recruit a qualified Auto Electrician for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Welshpool, Perth.

You will work on modern heavy commercial vehicles featuring electronically controlled diesel engines, automated transmissions and advanced vehicle electrical systems.

The role

  • Complete electrical diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose faults in electronic engine and transmission control systems
  • Investigate CAN-bus communication faults and repair wiring, sensors and electrical connections
  • Diagnose electrical faults associated with ABS/EBS braking and electronically controlled suspension systems
  • Repair and replace lighting, alternators, starter motors and other electrical components
  • Install and maintain vehicle electrical accessories
  • Perform preventative electrical maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems, where qualified
  • Maintain accurate job cards and service records
  • Work safely and support the workshop team


About you

  • Australian Auto Electrical trade qualification or equivalent international qualification
  • For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI or equivalent qualification in automotive electrical work
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience as an Auto Electrician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working on trucks and heavy commercial vehicles
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Experience with electronic engine management, CAN-bus diagnostics, ZF automated or Allison automatic transmission control systems, and heavy vehicle electronic braking and suspension systems will be highly regarded.
