About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Solutions Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions, with a strong focus on:

• IT Asset Management (ITAM)
• Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro)
• Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
• Discovery and Service Mapping
• Platform Integration and Governance

This is a permanent opportunity with flexibility to commence as an initial contract engagement for the right candidate. The role can be based in any Australian capital city, with preference for candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design across the ServiceNow platform.
• Develop scalable, secure, and sustainable ServiceNow solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development, implementation, and support teams.
• Define platform roadmaps and best-practice design patterns.

ITAM & SAM Pro

• Design and implement ServiceNow ITAM and SAM Pro capabilities.
• Develop software licence compliance, optimisation, and governance frameworks.
• Architect processes to improve software consumption visibility and reduce licensing risk.
• Support vendor audits and software asset lifecycle management initiatives.

CMDB & Service Mapping

• Design and govern enterprise CMDB strategy and data models.
• Establish CMDB health, governance, and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Lead Discovery and Service Mapping implementations.
• Ensure configuration data integrity across multiple technology domains.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with executive stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams.
• Conduct architecture workshops and provide strategic recommendations.
• Translate complex business requirements into practical ServiceNow solutions.
• Support business case development and platform investment decisions.

Integration & Governance

• Architect integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems.
• Establish governance, security, and platform standards.
• Support platform scalability, performance optimisation, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture and transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Extensive ServiceNow platform architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in:
  • ServiceNow ITAM
  • ServiceNow SAM Pro
  • ServiceNow CMDB
  • Discovery
  • Service Mapping
  • ITSM
  • ServiceNow Integrations
• Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, and asset management practices.
• Experience designing large-scale enterprise CMDB environments.
• Knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, and hybrid technology environments.

Experience

• Proven experience delivering complex ServiceNow transformation programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting capability.
• Experience working with enterprise or government environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture governance and technical decision-making.
• Experience overseeing implementation partners and technical teams.

Preferred Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
• ServiceNow ITAM or SAM Professional Certifications
• TOGAF or equivalent Architecture Certification
