Low Voltage Cabling Technician

Raleigh / Durham, NC
Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
$20–$28/hr

Join Next Level Technician as a Low Voltage Cabling Technician supporting commercial and enterprise projects throughout the Raleigh-Durham area. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, weekly paychecks, benefits, and long-term career growth with a respected low voltage integrator.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling
  • Install and build out MDF/IDF rooms, racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable tray systems
  • Terminate and test copper cabling using Fluke or similar testing equipment
  • Install and support fiber optic cabling including backbone and horizontal infrastructure
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, cable schedules, and system layouts
  • Maintain clean cable management and professional installation standards
  • Work safely on ladders, lifts, and active commercial construction sites
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure quality installations and timely project completion

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
  • Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 termination, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read construction drawings and installation documentation
  • Experience with rack & stack, patch panels, and telecom room buildouts
  • Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
  • Basic hand tools and PPE required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fiber optic installation and termination experience
  • BICSI certification or training
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience in healthcare, education, data center, or commercial environments
  • Lift certification a plus
