Apply directThe Automotive Security Business Development Manager will work within the global automotive business development team to lead and foster relationships in the automotive security ecosystem within Japan and the Asia Pacific region. This is inclusive of the automotive OEM’s and Tier 1’s and the major ecosystem influencers for automotive cybersecurity and mobility services
The individual will be measured on the ability to grow BlackBerry’s revenue in automotive cybersecurity products and services, driving and influencing major automotive security design wins. This will be accomplished by identifying key influencers, whether individuals, organizations or ecosystem companies, and by evangelizing the BlackBerry value propositions. This individual will work closely with the global sales team to enable OEM and Tier 1 design wins.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of solution level technical acumen and customer influencing skills. The candidate should possess a broad knowledge base of security technologies and solutions. The individual should be comfortable engaging with engineers or with purchasing teams.

- Identify and prioritize the major OEM, Tier 1 and ecosystem influencers in their region and to develop account plans with measurable goals tied to design wins and revenue achieved directly or through influence
- Establish customer and partner relationships and develop the accounts. Identify creative business models to expand BlackBerry’s footprint in the automotive security market
- Expand the BlackBerry product footprint and mindshare at the accounts by leading customer and partner meetings including presenting and demonstrating the BTS value proposition for the entire security portfolio. This is inclusive of current and future embedded security technologies and services. The candidate will be able to lead initial architectural discussions with the customer or partner
- Translate and influence customer requirements and represent to product management and engineering, and to ensure that the customer needs are ultimately met
- Drive thought leadership within the industry and within BlackBerry, including the development of content to support these initiatives. Represent BlackBerry at relevant cybersecurity industry events and consortiums
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience in security business development or solutions architecture
- 5+ years’ experience in automotive technology solutions
- Strong technical background and solutions architecture mindset with the ability to drive system architecture discussions
- Strong record of Tier One and/or OEM business development or sales, new market penetration, and C level engagements with industry relationships which can be leveraged to drive business growth
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient worker who knows how to utilize internal and external networks to achieve results
- Analytical approach to quickly solve problems with creative solutions
- Technical literacy with excellent communication skills
- Experience with legal and commercial negotiations
