Reporting to the Manager, Capital Maintenance and Asset Accounting, this position will provide financial analysis, reporting and advisory services relating to capital projects, asset accounting and budget management.

Key Contributions
- Prepare and analyse monthly capital project reports, reconciliations, briefing notes and presentations
- Provide financial insights and recommendations relating to capital and asset management activities
- Contribute to the development and review of capital management policies, procedures and financial controls
- Provide professional advice on Capital Work-in-Progress, asset acquisitions and associated accounting treatments
- Ensure compliance with Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements, Australian Accounting Standards and relevant government policies
- Support the management of the agency's annual capital budget and budget revisions
- Ensure capital budget information is accurately reflected across Queensland Treasury Budget Papers, Tridata and internal reporting systems
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, Queensland Treasury and external service providers
- Support the development and maintenance of effective internal controls across capital and asset accounting processes
- Prepare financial information and reports for senior management, auditors and other key stakeholders
- Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards, financial legislation and best practice asset accounting principles
- Provide support to the Manager, Capital Maintenance and Asset Accounting as required
- Strong experience in management accounting, capital accounting or asset accounting environments
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and government financial management frameworks
- Experience preparing complex financial reports, reconciliations and budget analyses
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to a range of stakeholders
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build effective working relationships
- Experience working with financial systems and reporting tools
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Membership or eligibility for membership with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)
- Experience in capital budgeting, asset accounting and infrastructure project environments
