About the Role
Kingston Human Capital is partnering with a Queensland Government department to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a busy finance team based in Brisbane CBD.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable or Finance Officer who enjoys working in a structured, high-volume environment where accuracy, attention to detail and strong processing skills are essential.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you'll manage end-to-end Accounts Payable functions while ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and in accordance with government policies and procedures.
This initial 6-month contract offers the opportunity to further strengthen your public sector experience while working within a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end Accounts Payable processing in a high-volume environment
- Process invoices accurately and within required timeframes
- Match purchase orders, investigate discrepancies and resolve exceptions
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations
- Respond to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiries
- Ensure payments comply with financial policies and delegated authorities
- Maintain accurate financial records and support continuous process improvement
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in end-to-end Accounts Payable within a high-volume finance environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to process work accurately with minimal supervision
- Experience using SAP is highly desirable
- Experience using TechnologyOne will also be highly regarded
- Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector finance experience will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- 6-month Queensland Government contract with potential extension
- Brisbane CBD location
- $51.12 per hour plus superannuation
